Job summary

Swyft Fiber is seeking a Fiber Technician to install, troubleshoot, service, and repair telecommunications equipment and fiber optic cables in customer locations. The role involves testing circuits, driving crew trucks, and inspecting equipment to ensure proper operation.

You will work outdoors in various weather, respond to 24/7 demands, and may travel up to 20%. A high school diploma and 2+ years field experience are required, along with a valid driver's license and ability to lift up to 50

Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years of field experience as a telecommunications technician required.
Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Travel up to 20% may be required.
Able to work long hours, overtime and weekends as necessary.
Ability to respond to 24/7/365 operation.
Emergency schedules during disasters and outages.

Responsibilities

Install, test, troubleshoot, service, and repair telecommunications equipment and fiber optic cable.
Test circuits and components to isolate malfunctions.
Drive crew trucks to and from job sites.
Inspect equipment regularly to ensure proper function.
Demonstrate equipment use to customers and respond to inquiries.
Analyze test readings and trouble reports to determine repair methods.
Work outdoors in all weather and at elevations up to 50 feet.
