Job summary

RTC Communications is seeking a field-based Installation and Repair Technician to install, maintain, and repair broadband, internet, data, and voice services at customer locations and RTC facilities.

The role requires hands-on work with fiber, copper, and Ethernet facilities, testing and splicing using appropriate tools, and clear communication with customers to resolve issues while upholding RTC’s service standards.

Qualifications

• Experience installing FTTP facilities and equipment.
• Ability to troubleshoot service and equipment problems.
• Read maps and maintenance instructions accurately.
• Commitment to professional customer service.
• Calix certifications and vendor training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and repair customer premises equipment and services.
• Install fiber, copper, and Ethernet facilities.
• Splice and test fiber and copper systems.
• Investigate service problems and identify root causes.
• Communicate with customers and document work records.
• Coordinate with other teams and complete required training.
• Promote RTC products and services.
