Job summary
UL Solutions is seeking a Senior Field Evaluation Engineer to join our Product Safety Field Evaluation Team. This home-based role covers Dallas/Fort Worth, Houston or Austin areas with travel required to support regulatory compliance and product evaluation projects.
You will independently assess installations, review documentation, and conduct on-site inspections to help authorities determine approvals. Travel is frequent, including international assignments, with a competitive salary and
Qualifications
- ABET-accredited engineering/technology degree required.
- Expert knowledge of NEC, Building Codes, field evaluations and conformity standards.
- Eight years of directly related experience.
- Ability to travel frequently, including international travel.
- Experience with Hazard Based Safety Engineering (HBSE) concepts.
Responsibilities
- Independently determines project scope, develops a preliminary plan of investigation, and determines project specifications by analyzing client input and data.
- Initiates communication with clients and AHJs to promote and explain UL procedures and requirements.
- Responds to address client concerns and to resolve complex client issues.
- Represents UL at meetings of outside organizations and provides presentations on code and certification topics.
- Plans, conducts, and supervises code and regulatory projects of major magnitude and scope.
- Develops test requirements and test methods for products beyond existing standards.
