Job summary

UL Solutions in Austin, TX is seeking a Field Engineer to perform safety and non-safety certification inspections, audits of quality systems, and field evaluations in accordance with UL requirements. You will travel to client sites, assess equipment, and document results.

The role requires strong technical aptitude, ability to read schematics, communicate with manufacturers and authorities, and maintain logs.

Qualifications

• University degree or technical certification in engineering (preferred).
• Experience in field engineering, compliance, or quality engineering preferred.
• ASQ certification a plus.
• Experience with UL standards, 508A, and industrial control panels a plus.
• Strong ability to read schematics and interpret technical information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; client-facing skills.
• Ability to travel locally and work at heights.

Responsibilities

• Assist in analyzing examination and test results against requirements.
• Perform safety and non-safety certification inspections in the field.
• Review production records and verify metrology against UL requirements.
• Coordinate with manufacturers and customers during inspections.
• Maintain inspection logs, schedules, and expense records.
• Promote UL services and explain benefits to clients.
• Calibrate and validate measurement instruments used in inspections.
• Travel locally within the Austin, TX area to client sites.
