Job summary

MasTec Renewables is seeking a Field Equipment Manager to oversee on-site maintenance activities, supervise field mechanics, and coordinate with vendors and project teams. The role emphasizes safety, budget management, and equipment readiness across multiple sites.

The position requires experience with heavy equipment, the ability to read schematics, and strong problem-solving and communication skills. On-site work with available training opportunities supports career growth within MasTec

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Three years of heavy equipment/construction experience for Field Equipment Manager I.
• Five years of heavy equipment/construction experience for Field Equipment Manager II.
• Ability to read schematics and diagnose equipment issues.
• Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the field mechanics on assigned site.
• Create an Equipment Matrix with start dates, milestones and equipment descriptions.
• Establish local vendors for oil changes, tire repairs, and parts/consumables.
• Assist in equipment budget planning and maintenance scheduling.
• Conduct daily safety checks and POD updates.
• Schedule trucking and ensure BOLs are signed.
• Ensure DOT drivers have up-to-date medical cards and proper insurance/docs.
• Mentor and train Field Equipment Managers at various levels.
• Provide equipment management support across sites when needed.
• Other duties as assigned.
