Job summary

Haley & Aldrich seeks a technical support professional to work on environmental remediation projects, performing field monitoring and supporting engineers. Responsibilities include observing earthwork, testing soils, documenting field observations, and preparing detailed reports.

The candidate should have a Civil or Environmental Engineering degree, strong communication, Excel/Word skills, and a valid driver’s license, with willingness to travel to job sites and work construction hours.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic Microsoft Excel and Word capabilities.
• Must possess a valid driver's license.
• Must have a reliable form of transportation to travel to job sites.
• Willingness to work construction hours.
• OSHA 40-hr. HAZWOPER training preferred but not required.
• Engineer-In-Training (EIT) certificate preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Construction monitoring of earthwork, concrete work, and environmental remediation components.
• Identify technical issues and approaches for evaluation.
• Identify field conditions differing from design assumptions.
• Assess conformance of constructed elements with design intent.
• Escalate changes or non-conforming work with Lead Engineer.
• Use geotechnical and environmental instrumentation and equipment.
• Perform field soil and rock tests.
• Prepare detailed field notes and photos for reports.
• Produce daily/weekly field reports with figures and tables.
• Coordinate scheduling with contractors and subcontractors.
• Draft technical sections of project communications.
• Adhere to Site Specific Health and Safety Plans.
• Participate in site safety briefings and audits by contractors and Haley & Aldrich.
• Document safety observations daily.
