Job summary

WestLand Engineering and Environmental Services, a Trinity Consultants team, is seeking a full-time Environmental Compliance Monitor to support projects in the Southwest, initially near Yuma, AZ. The role involves field inspections, documenting compliance, and guiding crews on corrective actions, with per diem and a company vehicle provided.

Ideal candidates have an Associate’s degree in Environmental Science or related field, up to two years in environmental monitoring, and strong communication

Qualifications

• Associates degree required with related field; high school diploma with experience accepted
• 0–2 years of environmental monitoring experience preferred
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local environmental regulations
• Experience in monitoring, compliance, or related field preferred
• Strong observational and reporting skills
• Effective communication with crews, managers, and regulators
• Proficiency in MS Office for reports

Responsibilities

• Conduct monitoring of construction activities to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permit conditions.
• Monitor implementation of erosion and sediment control measures, spill prevention protocols, and other environmental protection practices.
• Document inspection findings, including photographs and written reports, and communicate results to project management.
• Advise construction crews on corrective actions to address environmental compliance issues.
• Coordinate with project management and contractors regarding compliance matters.
• Maintain accurate inspection logs, reports, and related documentation.
• Report any environmental incidents or non-compliance to the Project Manager immediately.
• Support environmental training for construction crews as needed.
• Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials on site.
• Assist in preparing final environmental compliance reports for project closeout.
• Participate in or complete biological field surveys as needed.
