Job summary

Clean Harbors in Sparks, NV is seeking an Environmental Field Chemist to handle, pack and inspect chemical waste across customer sites, indoors and outdoors. This entry level role emphasizes safety, regulatory compliance, and customer interaction. Training is provided and paid through an academy program out of state.

The position is customer facing, with potential career progression into management after successful training and placement at multiple Clean Harbors locations nationwide.

Qualifications

• Valid Driver’s license and willingness to obtain CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months.
• Strong customer service skills and ability to interact with clients at customer sites.
• Able to perform physical duties and pass background check, drug test, and physical exam.
• Comply with OSHA, EPA, DOT and company safety policies.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, pack, segregate and inspect chemical waste to comply with regulations.
• Prepare packing lists, labels and disposal notifications for jobs at customer locations.
• Safely operate vehicles following DOT and site safety requirements.
• Assist with lab packs and HHW collections while engaging with customers daily.

Skills

Valid Driver's license

CDL Class B (hazmat & tanker) within 6
