Job summary

Hunter Communications is seeking a Drive-time Engineering Field Technician to support field operations in the Central Point, Oregon area. You will work with outside plant engineers and project managers to gather information and build a fiber optic network footprint for homes and businesses.

Travel and on-call duties are part of the role during training and ongoing projects. The position requires outdoor work, strong organizational skills, and comfort interacting with the public.

Qualifications

• Ability to lift and carry tools exceeding 20lbs
• Ability to lift up to 100lbs for lids and equipment
• Detail-oriented and professional
• Good communication with the public
• Familiarity with Windows-based computers and Office tools

Responsibilities

• Perform in-person utility pole and attachment inspections
• Enter data into forms and report observations clearly
• Locate and mark underground plant using tools and maps
• Coordinate with cross‑department teams to gather and report information
• Inspect assets and report status and actions needed
• Interact with the public to gain access and address concerns
• Work outdoors in all weather and terrains
• Support engineering with fielding requests and permitting needs
