Job summary

Hunter Communications is seeking a Field Technician to install wireless, fiber, coax, voice, apps, and streaming services at homes and businesses across Oregon and Northern California. The role involves outdoor work in all weather, climbing ladders and poles, and delivering excellent customer service.

This full-time position features 10-hour days, four days a week (Wed-Sat), with occasional travel, on-call rotation, and potential overtime as part of our training pathway.

Qualifications

• Telecommunications experience preferred but not required.
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Must be on call as needed, including nights and holidays.
• Clean driving record with no tickets for speeding over 20 mph or DUII in the last 5 years.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs; lift ladders up to 32’.
• Operate electric and hand tools.
• Frequent standing, walking, bending, crouching, crawling, climbing, twisting.
• Close vision; ability to distinguish colors in graphs and charts.
• Clear communication and hearing to interact with employees and customers.

Responsibilities

• Install wireless, fiber, coax, voice, apps, and streaming services.
• Perform maintenance and repair of network and customer services.
• Climb towers/telephone poles up to 500 feet; work from ladder or bucket truck.
• Provide first-class customer service and educate customers on products.
• Assist in training new Field Technicians; adjust workload as needed.
• Travel to other markets in Oregon and Northern California for a week.
• On-call rotation; possible weekend work and overtime.
