Leidos is seeking a Field Engineering Technician to provide hands‑on support for installation, testing, maintenance, and deployment of complex electro‑mechanical systems in lab and field environments.

The role involves up to 50% travel to customer and project sites, collaboration with engineering teams, and ensuring systems meet safety, quality, and performance standards. Strong communication skills and the ability to read technical docs are essential.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience supporting engineering, maintenance, field service, or technical operations.
• Experience troubleshooting electrical, electronic, mechanical, or integrated systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and engineering documentation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to lift equipment up to 50 pounds and work in laboratory, industrial, and field environments.
• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50%.
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain and maintain one.

Responsabilités

• Perform installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair of electrical, mechanical, and electronic systems.
• Conduct troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis of system and equipment failures.
• Support system integration, verification, validation, and acceptance testing activities.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance procedures in accordance with established standards and technical documentation.
• Collect, analyze, and document technical data, test results, and field observations.
• Assist engineers in evaluating system performance and implementing technical solutions.
• Coordinate with customers, engineers, project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure successful project execution.
• Maintain accurate records, reports, and maintenance documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable safety, quality, security, and environmental requirements.
• Travel to customer locations and operational sites as required to support project objectives.
