Job summary

The North Carolina Department of Transportation is seeking an Engineering Technician I (S) to support the Winston-Salem Construction 2 Resident Engineer's Office. The role performs technical duties in construction inspection, materials testing, survey work, and regulatory compliance, with duties including diary entries, reports, calculations, pay records, and data entry.

Qualified applicants have an Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology or related field, or equivalent experience.

Qualifications

Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology or assigned discipline, or an equivalent combination.
Knowledge and ability to use computer equipment, iPad and software.
Experience maintaining standard daily records and reports.
Experience in team environments and customer service related to explaining engineering concepts.

Responsibilities

Perform construction inspection, materials testing, project surveying, and regulatory compliance.
Support engineers and professionals; review plans and analyze engineering data.
Daily duties: diary entries, material reports, construction calculations, and pay records.
Assist in office engineering and support the Resident Engineer.
