Job summary

Citrus County Board of County Commissioners is seeking an Engineering Design Technician for Stormwater to inspect and verify that projects meet plans and standards. The role involves plan reviews, ERP/SWPPP compliance, GIS data maintenance, and cross-agency coordination.

Qualified candidates will have a high school diploma or GED (engineering degree preferred), and 2 years of civil engineering experience. A valid FL driver license is required within 30 days of residency.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED; engineering degree preferred.
  • Two years experience in civil engineering design, site development, and stormwater projects.
  • Ability to interpret field surveys, site topography, and plan review.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; GIS and Civil3D knowledge preferred.
  • Valid Florida driver license within 30 days of residency.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and verify that construction projects meet submitted plans and specifications.
  • Review plans to ensure compliance with Federal, State, and County standards.
  • Inspect drainage retention areas for ERP compliance and SWPPP adherence.
  • Maintain GIS data and assist with NPDES permit reporting.
  • Respond to citizen questions and coordinate with county, state, and federal staff.
