Job summary

Kiewit is offering a full-time temporary construction field internship designed to provide hands-on learning in construction management. Interns will engage in field engineering, planning, cost control, scheduling and procurement, gaining exposure across multiple markets.

Positions require travel/relocation as needed and a current pursuit of an engineering or related degree, with a strong safety mindset and teamwork emphasis.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in civil engineering, construction management or related
• Currently enrolled at Colorado School of Mines, Iowa State University, Purdue University, University of Colorado-Boulder, or University of Nebraska-Lincoln and a member of the Kiewit Scholars Program
• Ability to travel or relocate as needed
• Ability to work full-time during the summer (approximately May-August)
• Strong work ethic and safety-minded attitude
• Demonstrated ethics, integrity and teamwork

Responsibilities

• Field engineering, operation planning, cost control, project scheduling, quantity tracking and material procurement
• Contract administration and supervision of field activities
• Maintaining records on job progress, costs and material usage
• Planning and scheduling of job segments
• Investigating issues and proposing solutions
• Reviewing plans and specifications for material requirements and pricing
• Coordinating with suppliers to facilitate delivery of materials
