Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join the Water/Wastewater Division in the Florence, SC area. The role focuses on supporting field tasks under the supervision of the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman.

The candidate will assist with surveying, documentation, planning, and coordination of field activities while maintaining accurate logs and drawings for the project.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or other relevant degree.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Surveying/layout experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout and field tasks.
• Handle field purchase orders and paperwork.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings and as-built drawings.
• Maintain project logs and schedules; assist with RFIs.
• Attend meetings and record minutes and distributions.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting as needed.
