Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to contribute to the Water/Wastewater Division in the Milton, FL area. The role focuses on field tasks assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman, supporting project planning and execution.

The ideal candidate holds a Civil or Mechanical Engineering degree and has strong surveying/layout skills, technical writing, and excellent communication to coordinate with field teams and subcontractors.

Qualifications

• Surveying/layout experience and technical writing are required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout.
• Field purchase orders.
• Engineering duties as assigned for planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
• Scheduling.
