Job summary

Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to join its Water/Wastewater Division in the Florence, SC area.

The successful candidate will help complete field tasks assigned by the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman, and will assist with layout, RFIs, and shop drawings. The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering field and strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout.
• Process field purchase orders.
• Provide engineering duties for construction planning.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M materials.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Record meeting minutes and distribute.
• Coordinate scheduling.
