Wharton-Smith, Inc. is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to support the Water/Wastewater Division in the Baton Rouge, LA area and on a current project in Jackson, MS.

The successful candidate will assist the Project Superintendent and Craft Foreman with field tasks, structural layout, shop drawings, RFIs, and project documentation, ensuring timely completion and quality results on site. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with surveying/layout and technical writing.

Responsibilities

• Assist Foreman with structure layout
• Field purchase orders
• Engineering duties as assigned for planning construction.
• Maintain and update project logs and schedules.
• Identify need for RFIs.
• Prepare, review and process shop drawings.
• Maintain as-built drawings.
• Collect and assemble O&M material.
• Perform subcontract scope analysis.
• Assist with purchasing and expediting.
• Document distribution.
• Meeting minutes and distribution.
