Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin seeks a Field Engineering Associate (RESA IV) to groom, operate, and maintain advanced underwater sensor systems in Bangor, Washington. You will provide field engineering support, documentation, and training as part of a specialized NAVY-oriented program run by Applied Research Laboratories.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Six years of related experience, five in operation/test/evaluation of Navy underwater systems.
  • Ability to develop and apply system-level operating and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Ability to deliver training to Navy personnel and industry partners.

Responsibilities

  • Provide field engineering support for underwater sensor suites, including grooming, operations and maintenance.
  • Develop test procedures and maintenance work packages; produce technical documentation and manuals.
  • Support system testing, maintenance, and training on Navy platforms and UUVs; troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies and networks.
  • Assist in developing training curricula and training systems for operation and maintenance of sensors.
  • Liaise with sponsors and prepare status briefs; maintain relationships with vendors and partners.
