Job summary

The University of Texas at Austin's Applied Research Laboratories seeks an ILS Training Specialist (RESA IV) to deliver formal system operation and maintenance training to active duty Navy and industry partners for the ATL. You will develop curricula for underwater sensor systems and unmanned vehicles, and support training materials and documentation.

Join a team supporting Navy programs, coordinating with Navy, contractors and lab personnel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Six years of experience operating, testing and employing Navy systems including underwater acoustic systems.
  • Detailed knowledge of training product/curriculum development.
  • Ability to deliver training to active duty Navy and industry partners.
  • Ability to organize, plan, and execute installation, test and maintenance procedures of complex systems.
  • Knowledge of maintenance and training, including developing system operating and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
  • Dynamic skill set, willingness to work with new technologies, highly organized, able to coordinate multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive curriculum material for underwater sensor systems and unmanned underwater vehicles with tactical sensors.
  • Develop operator training materials and provide operator training.
  • Create test and maintenance procedures and formal work packages.
  • Develop technical documentation and manuals for operation and maintenance of sensors.
  • Support system testing, maintenance and training on platforms and Navy vessels.
  • Provide field engineering support and troubleshoot electromechanical assemblies and networks.
  • Assist in coordinating training activities with Navy, contractor and lab personnel.
