Job summary

Lane Construction is seeking a Field Engineer to join a major tunneling project in North Bergen, NJ. You will support project teams in both field and office, ensuring work aligns with plans, safety standards, and schedules.

You will gain hands-on experience, participate in the 2-Year Field Engineer Development Program (FEDP), and build skills in project controls, estimating, scheduling, surveying, and coordination with utilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Managing both office and field responsibilities to support project requirements, including implementation of scheduled work and tracking project data.
• Assisting with project scheduling and planning activities.
• Preparing cost and time estimates to help meet project budgets and deadlines.
• Performing quantity take-offs.
• Preparing and managing submittals.
• Assisting with surveying and layout activities.
• Tracking job quantities, production rates, and project costs.
• Identifying discrepancies between design plans and field conditions and communicating solutions.
• Coordinating with third-party utility providers to ensure utilities are properly identified and located before construction activities begin.
• Supporting project teams with additional duties as assigned.
