Lane Construction is seeking a Field Engineer to support a major North Carolina highway project, joining the 2-Year Field Engineer Development Program (FEDP). You will split time between field and office, gaining hands-on experience, mentorship, and structured training to advance toward project management roles.

Required qualifications include a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or related field. The role emphasizes safety, teamwork, and operational excellence within a leading heavy civil

Responsibilities

• Managing both office and field responsibilities to support project requirements, including implementation of scheduled work and tracking project data.
• Assisting with project scheduling and planning activities.
• Preparing cost and time estimates to help meet project budgets and deadlines.
• Performing quantity take-offs.
• Preparing and managing submittals.
• Assisting with surveying and layout activities.
• Tracking job quantities, production rates, and project costs.
• Identifying discrepancies between design plans and field conditions and communicating solutions.
• Coordinating with third‑party utility providers to ensure utilities are properly identified and located before construction activities begin.
• Supporting project teams with additional duties as assigned.
