Job Description

Position

We are seeking a Senior Field Engineer to conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment for compliance with regulatory safety standards (UL, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, etc.). The role involves reviewing electrical construction and engineering across various industries, with 100% travel required, primarily within the lower 48 states, and the ability to obtain a passport for international travel.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Evaluations under the Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs program
• Review scope of work and prepare for travel
• Coordinate travel arrangements
• Communicate with clients, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), contractors, and other stakeholders
• Identify applicable codes and standards
• Review manuals, schematics, BOMs, site procedures, and data sheets
• Document construction details and non-conformances
• Assess compliance with UL, NFPA, CSA, or ANSI standards
• Determine equipment eligibility for labeling and finalize reports
• Manage expenses and documentation for billing
• Achieve billing goals and meet project deadlines
• Build client relationships and promote Eurofins services

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
• MUST have direct Field Engineering experience with a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) or Field Evaluation Body (FEB)
• Experience with UL standards such as UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, & NFPA 79
• Knowledge of Hazardous Location and CSA standards is a plus
• Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work in elevated and confined spaces and lift 30+ pounds
• A solid electrical background and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work independently and with diverse populations

Work Remotely

• This position is remote; proximity to a major airport is required.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000 per year
