The Field Service Engineer for Beckman Coulter Diagnostics is responsible for maintaining diagnostic tools, which directly influences patient health and well-being.

This position is part of the Service Organization located in San Diego, CA, and will be fully remote. At Beckman Coulter, our vision is to relentlessly reimagine healthcare, one diagnosis at a time.

You will be a part of the Field Service Team reporting to the Southern California Manager, responsible for ensuring optimal performance of Beckman Coulter equipment. This position services Diagnostic Laboratory Instrumentation, working on Hematology, Urinalysis, Microbiology, Immunoassay, Chemistry, and Automation platforms. In This Role, You Will Have The Opportunity To

  • Handle troubleshooting, installation, preventative maintenance, and service repair needs of Beckman Coulter equipment independently, providing excellent service and technical training.
  • Maintain accurate service logs, order parts, adhere to cycle times, and utilize business systems like OBI, Salesforce, and SharePoint.
  • Engage with stakeholders, understand their requirements, and assist in training newer Field Service Engineers.

The Essential Requirements Of The Job Include

  • Associate degree, military experience, or High School Diploma with at least 2 years of relevant experience (military or High School considered case-by-case).
  • 0-1 year experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electromechanical, robotics, electronic equipment, or instrumentation.

Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements

  • Ability to travel – 10% travel, overnight, within territory or locations.
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record.
  • Physical ability to lift, move, or carry up to 50lb, and perform physical tasks such as bending, stooping, twisting, crouching, pushing/pulling, and sitting/standing for extended periods. Reach at, above, and below shoulder level, and have good hand and finger dexterity.

Preferred Experience

  • 2+ years’ experience in troubleshooting, installation, validation, preventative maintenance, modifications, or repair.
  • Experience developing positive relationships with stakeholders, leading to increased customer satisfaction and retention.
  • Technical college major such as biomed, engineering, or related field.

The hourly range is $33.65 - $36.00/hour, potentially including bonuses, overtime, and a monthly housing allowance. This role is eligible for remote work, with details provided during the interview.
