Job Description

Position

As a Senior Field Engineer, you will conduct on-site evaluations of electrical equipment to ensure compliance with regulatory safety standards (UL, NFPA, CSA, ANSI, etc.). You will review construction and engineering aspects of electrical equipment across various industries (manufacturing, labs, medical, commercial, retail, food service, etc.). This role requires 100% travel, primarily within the lower 48 states, with both domestic and international opportunities. Candidates must possess or be able to obtain a passport.

Responsibilities

• Perform Field Evaluations under the Eurofins E&E North America/MET Labs Field Labeling program.
• Review scope of work, identify necessary items, and coordinate travel arrangements.
• Communicate effectively with clients, authorities having jurisdiction (AHJ), contractors, and other stakeholders.
• Identify applicable codes and standards.
• Review manuals, schematics, BOMs, site procedures, and data sheets.
• Document construction details and non-conformances during inspections.
• Assess compliance with UL, NFPA, CSA, or ANSI standards.
• Determine equipment eligibility for labeling and prepare final reports.
• Manage expenses and documentation for billing.
• Meet or exceed billing goals while adhering to project deadlines.
• Build and maintain relationships with clients, promoting Eurofins services.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• MUST have direct Field Engineering experience with a Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratory (NRTL) or Field Evaluation Body (FEB) using product safety standards.
• Experience as a Follow-Up Inspector is not relevant unless combined with UL 508A training seminars.
• Knowledge of UL 508A, UL 61010-1, UL 73, NFPA 70, & NFPA 79 standards.
• Experience with Hazardous Location and CSA standards is a plus.
• Strong technical writing skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
• Ability to work in elevated or confined spaces and lift 30+ pounds.
• A solid electrical background and understanding of electrical systems.
• Problem-solving skills and ability to work independently.

Work Environment

• This position is entirely remote. Candidates must be near a major airport.

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000/year.
