Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Field Engineer to lead on-site structured cabling and OSP installations in New Albany, OH. You will interpret drawings, BOMs, and specs, perform tests and punch lists, and guide field teams toward quality, build‑able solutions.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, collaboration with PMs and subcontractors, and hands‑on problem solving in a fast‑paced environment. This contract‑to‑hire position offers full‑time placement with competitive pay.

Qualifications

• OSP experience (required).
• Fiber optic cable knowledge.
• Cable construction skills.
• BOM reading ability.
• Procurement understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical execution for structured cabling and OSP work.
• Review drawings, cable schedules, BOMs, and project specs.
• Perform testing, verification, inspections, and punch‑list closeout.
• Support project managers with technical guidance throughout the lifecycle.
• Conduct site walks, identify constraints, and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate with subcontractors and field teams to ensure alignment.
• Serve as the technical liaison between field operations and GC.
• Provide input on materials, procurement, and constructability.
• Support training, best practices, and quality initiatives.
