Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking experienced Special Inspectors and Field Engineers for immediate openings in New York. Primary duties include completing assigned inspections, reviewing, and submitting reports in accordance with NYS DOB codes.

Typical shift is 7am-3:30pm, with travel to multiple job sites as required. Ideal candidates hold ICC/AWC/NICET/ACI certifications and are familiar with the NYC Building Code, with strong report-writing skills and proficiency in Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Qualifications

• Certification from ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI is preferred.
• ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required.
• Familiarity with the New York City Building Code.
• Ability to read prints and identify inspection locations.
• Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned inspections as scheduled by dispatch.
• Perform inspections and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings.
• Maintain a usual schedule of 7am-3:30pm.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by supervisor or manager.
