Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking experienced Special Inspectors and Field Engineers for immediate opportunities in New York. You will complete inspections as scheduled, review and submit reports per NYS DOB code and approved drawings, and perform related duties.

Ideal candidates hold ICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACI certifications, with ICC Commercial or Residential certification required. A engineering-related degree is a plus, and willingness to travel to multiple job sites daily is essential.

Qualifications

• ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required.
• Technical, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) a plus.
• Familiarity with the New York City Building Code.
• Ability to read prints and locate inspection sites.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Reliable transportation needed.
• Extensive knowledge of industry standards.
• Punctual and detail-oriented with ability to work various shifts.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch.
• Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned – inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.

Qualifications

• Ideal candidates must hold certifications fromICC, AWS, NICET and/or ACIincluding:

• Reliable means of transportation necessary.

• Ability to work various shifts
• Ability to travel numerous job sites daily
• Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic
• Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers
• Prepare and electronically submit daily reports
• Organized and efficient
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
• Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license
