Job summary

SOCOTEC is seeking experienced Special Inspectors and Field Engineers for FTC opportunities in New York. You will complete inspections, review drawings, and submit reports in accordance with NYS DOB code and company standards.

Ideal candidates hold ICC/AWS/NICET/ACI certifications, a related technical degree, and must travel to multiple job sites daily. Proficiency in Word, Excel and Outlook and a valid driver license are required.

Qualifications

• ICC Commercial or Residential Certification required.
• Technical, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree pertaining to the Engineering field (Civil, Mechanical, Environmental, etc.) a plus.
• Candidates must be familiar with the New York City Building Code.
• Ability to read prints and find inspection locations.
• Ability to produce inspection reports according to company standards.
• Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
• Reliable means of transportation necessary.
• Extensive knowledge of industry standards.
• Must be punctual, reliable with good attention to detail.
• Ability to work various shifts.
• Ability to travel numerous job sites daily.
• Highly motivated team player with a strong work ethic.
• Able to communicate effectively with a variety of project managers.
• Prepare and electronically submit daily reports.
• Organized and efficient.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Authorized to work in the U.S with a valid driver license.

Responsibilities

• Complete assigned inspection as scheduled by dispatch.
• Perform scheduled inspection during the time assigned – inspect, review and submit reports according to NYS DOB code and approved drawings.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by your supervisor or manager.
