Job summary

PCL Solar Constructors USA Inc. in Camden, Ohio, is hiring a Field Engineer to support renewable energy projects. You will gain hands-on experience in construction, engineering and project management while mentoring junior staff.

The role emphasizes safety, collaboration with superintendents, and effective communication with contractors and design teams. This position offers exposure to multiple projects and locations across states.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, architecture or related field or equivalent experience.
• 0–12 months of field engineer/coordinator experience or internships counted as experience.
• Knowledge of construction specs, methods and procedures.
• Able to solve problems using construction principles.
• Effective verbal and written communications with supervisors and subs.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear technical communication to trades, designers and inspectors.
• Develops and maintains partner relationships.
• Proficient in MS Office and construction software.

Responsibilities

• Mentor and lead inspections, orientates, identify hazards and correct, uphold safety practices.
• Coordinate with the superintendent on workforce planning.
• Support project engineers/superintendents to lead trade contractors (RFIs, shop drawings, changes, billings).
• Supervise self-perform scopes, adjust crew sizes, track labor and quantities for LCRs.
• Mentor field engineers and students/interns.
• Identify issues on-site or in scopes.
• Coordinate third-party inspections and site reviews.
• Contribute to quality plan, ITP development and supervision.
• Develop positive relationships with all partners.
