Job summary

Southwind Construction Services LLC is seeking an experienced Field Engineer to provide onsite technical support, field engineering, and project coordination for commercial, industrial, and federal construction projects.

The role assists the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with daily field operations, from mobilization through closeout, including layout, subcontractor coordination, scheduling, safety compliance, quality control, and field documentation.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting field engineering in construction projects.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and submittals.
• Knowledge of safety, quality standards, and site coordination.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Superintendent and Project Manager with daily field coordination.
• Review drawings, specs, submittals, shop drawings, and contract docs for field activities.
• Assist with construction layout, measurements, elevations, and existing condition verifications.
• Coordinate personnel, subcontractors, vendors, materials, equipment, and resources for field activities.
• Develop and communicate daily and short-term look-ahead work plans and sequencing.
• Support safety, quality control, inspections, and punch-list activities.
• Maintain field records, look-ahead schedules, RFIs, submittals, and as-built docs.
