Job summary

FlatironDragados is hiring a Field Engineer to lead precision in overseeing construction activities on a major East Coast infrastructure project. You will ensure compliance with engineering standards, codes, and contract specs while coordinating materials, crews, permits, and field layouts on site.

The role involves daily collaboration with project teams, tracking production against schedule and budget, and providing technical input for work plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• 2+ years of construction engineering experience required.
• Beginner knowledge of construction equipment & techniques, drawing & specifications, building materials and applicable standards.
• Ability to assume responsibility and communicate effectively with others.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of construction scheduling and production time management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets daily with project crews to review production schedule and confirm materials, equipment, and resources are available.
• Collects and analyzes shop drawings, design specs, material requirements, and project data for quality and contract compliance.
• Provides technical input for work plans and identifies risk elements that could affect budget or schedule.
• Tracks project performance by evaluating daily production, schedule, and budget projections.
• Manages cost coding with finance for time, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
• Reviews and approves daily timecards; coordinates with payroll and supervisors as needed.
• Ensures quality assurance through reviewing specifications and managing inspections and documentation.
• Plans field layout and ensures utilities and lines are marked; coordinates permits.
