Job summary

Flatiron Construction Corp. is seeking a Field Engineer to lead on-site technical work, ensuring adherence to engineering standards, codes, and contract specs.

You will review schedules, shop drawings, and material requirements, and provide input to project plans while coordinating with crews and subcontractors. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree in a related field, 1+ year of construction experience, and strong communication skills to interface with project teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• 1+ year construction experience preferred.
• Construction engineering knowledge or experience required.
• Basic knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, specifications and materials.
• Ability to take responsibility and communicate effectively with others.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily with project crews to review production schedule and verify materials, equipment, and resources are ready.
• Collect, coordinate and analyze shop drawings, design specs, material requirements and project data for quality and compliance.
• Provide technical input for project work plans and scheduling; identify risk elements.
• Evaluate daily production, schedule and budget projections and document activities.
• Manage project costs and timekeeping with finance teams; ensure accurate reporting.
• Review timecards with crews and resolve inquiries with supervisors.
• Verify project specifications for QA from start to finish and handle related certificates and inspections.
• Assist planning of field layout and obtain permits required before work begins.
• Support development of design drawings and technical input; coordinate subcontractor work methods.
• Coordinate subcontractor work methods, schedules and crews as needed.
