Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Field Engineer III to bridge engineering, construction, and client teams across the United States. You will spend time on active jobsites, solving technical challenges and mentoring others while advancing large-scale industrial projects from kickoff to completion.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Construction Engineering or related field, 5+ years of field experience, and a PE license or pursuit of licensure. Expect travel and close client collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Five or more years of experience in construction, field engineering, or a related engineering role.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or the desire and qualifications to obtain licensure.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, field coordination, and project execution.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to prioritize multiple responsibilities while maintaining attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other engineering or project management software.

Responsibilities

• Providing technical support on active jobsites and responding to field or client technical issues.
• Reviewing electrical designs and validating installations during construction.
• Serving as the primary liaison between engineering, construction teams, clients, vendors, and partner engineering firms.
• Building strong client relationships through regular communication during and between projects.
• Leading small projects while coordinating across multiple engineering disciplines.
• Supporting project pursuits by collaborating with project managers and estimators on proposals.
• Leading and mentoring team members through effective delegation and technical guidance.
• Acting as an owner's representative to ensure project expectations are met.
• Assisting with estimating specification reviews and preparing RFIs.
• Supporting 3D/BIM model coordination and documenting as-built information as needed.
