Job summary

Interstates is seeking a Field Engineer III to bridge engineering, construction, and client needs on large industrial projects. You’ll spend time in the field, applying technical solutions, building client trust, and guiding projects from start-up to completion.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in construction or field engineering, a PE license or drive to obtain one, and strong Excel and communication skills to coordinate across teams and vendors on multi-discipline efforts.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Engineering or related field.
• Five+ years in construction, field engineering, or related role.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or pursuing licensure.
• Strong understanding of construction processes and field coordination.
• Experience interpreting electrical drawings and specs.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support on active jobsites and respond to field issues.
• Review electrical designs and validate installations during construction.
• Act as liaison between engineering, construction teams, clients, and vendors.
• Build strong client relationships through regular communication.
• Lead small projects and coordinate across disciplines.
• Support project pursuits with PMs and estimators on proposals.
• Mentor team members through delegation and guidance.
• Serve as owner's representative to meet project expectations.
• Assist with RFIs and estimating specification reviews.
• Support 3D/BIM model coordination and document as-built info.
