Job summary

IES Communications in Englewood, CO is seeking a Field Engineer to support project execution and serve as a liaison between the Ops team and support groups like Scheduling, QA/QC, and Doc Control.

You will collaborate with the Project Manager, review drawings, and assist superintendents with technical issues, RFIs, and site documentation while ensuring code compliance and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3–4 years of commercial low-voltage/structured cabling experience.
  • At least 6+ years of experience and driving standards compliance.
  • Proficient with Bluebeam software and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project).
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to define a project, create scope of work, develop detailed tasks, and manage to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with the Project Manager and team on site needs.
  • Complete GVR reports from superintendents' daily logs.
  • Monitor codes and practices compliance on site.
  • Work with QA/QC to ensure install policies are followed.
  • Review specifications to meet all site requirements.
  • Provide technical support to superintendents.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and monitor weekly updates.
  • Review and upload daily test results with Testing Administrator.
  • Analyze weekly dailies with PM to track fades/gains.
  • Oversee test results and documentation submissions.
  • Train site personnel in field and training rooms.
  • Review drawings and measure rooms to generate complete as‑builts.

Job description

Job Summary:

The field engineer will work hand in hand with the Project Manager to offer support to site needs and project execution. The position also serves as a liaison between the Ops team and support teams such as Scheduling, QA/QC, and Doc Control.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Cooperate and communicate effectively with the Project Manager and other team members.
  • Complete GVR (Global Vendor Report) reports from superintendents' daily logs.
  • Monitor compliance with applicable codes and practices.
  • Work with site QA/QC to ensure install policies are being followed.
  • Review specifications to ensure the site meets all requirements.
  • Assist superintendents by providing technical support.
  • Prepare, schedule, coordinate, and monitor weekly updates.
  • Review and upload test results with the Testing Administrator daily.
  • Analyze “Dailies” weekly with the Project Manager to track weekly fades and gains.
  • Oversee test result and documentation submittals.
  • Cooperate with QA/QC to conduct site‑specific hands‑on training in field and training rooms.
  • Review drawings and physically measure rooms to ensure accuracy for generating complete as‑builds.
  • Accept periodic changes of duties upon request.
  • Develop, submit, and resolve RFIs.
  • Store, communicate, and archive project documentation.
  • Assist and participate in project closeout.

Compensation: Min USD $36.00/Hr. Max USD $50.00/Hr.

Education, Certification, License, and Skill Requirements
  • High School diploma or GED equivalency required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
