Job summary

Sundt Construction is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer assistant in San Diego, CA. You will support the Project Engineer as the technical source for drawings, specs, submittals, and change orders, while maintaining relationships with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and suppliers.

There is a clear three-step progression (I, II, Senior) within this role. Responsibilities include assisting with as-built drawings, submittals, RFl's, meeting minutes, budgeting, and cost control,

Qualifications

• Entry-level position normally requires a four-year construction-related degree or equivalent technical/field experience.
• Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential.
• Microsoft Office Suite proficiency (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Assists Project Engineer in developing and maintaining as-built drawings and other tasks; reviews and processes submittals, change orders, RFl's, and budget forecasting.
• Contributes to project management plan understanding and supports change management, budgeting, and cost control.
• Supports BIM coordination between Subcontractors and Designers; contributes to ORD documentation and LEED certification where applicable.
• May provide lines, grades, and layout; maintains an organized logbook; assists with weekly quantity tracking and reporting.
• Provides support to superintendents to resolve field problems and ensure project progress.
