Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking an Engineer I to support the full cycle of field coordination with team members, subcontractors, and vendors across multiple locations (Minneapolis, MN; Denver, CO; Fargo, ND; San Antonio, Texas). You will perform basic engineering tasks, collaborate with design teams, and help review vendor documentation.

The role requires an ABET-accredited degree, EIT preferred, and potential to obtain PE license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Civil, Structural, Computer Engineering/Science or related major by summer 2027.
• Applicable mathematical skills.
• Willingness to be mobile/relocate frequently for project assignments.
• Possess a current driver's license and have access to reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Performs basic engineering tasks and calculations under supervision, supporting project design and execution across multiple phases.
• Collaborate with design teams to ensure coordination and compliance with standards, customer requirements and best practices.
• Assist in reviewing vendor documentation, validating field conditions, and resolving site issues.
• Interfaces with operating group partners, customers and gathers technical data to recommend solutions.
• Contributes to detailed design work and supports senior engineers.
• Basic understanding of discipline specific technical designs and ABET accrediation; ability to pursue PE license in future.
