Job summary

Mortenson Construction is seeking a Field Engineer to support and complete field coordination with team members, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers. You will manage submittals, RFIs, inspections, and closeout tasks across multiple projects.

The role requires a construction-focused degree by 2027, willingness to relocate, and a valid driver’s license. Opportunities include mobility across operating groups in Renewable Energy, Commercial, Data Center, and more.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Engineering, or related field by summer 2027
• Willingness to be mobile/relocate frequently for project assignments
• Possess a current driver's license and reliable transportation

Responsibilities

• Lead submittal and RFIs for Definable Features of Work (DFW) to closure
• Evaluate design documents and distribute to necessary parties
• Prepare for Pre-Mobilization Kickoff meetings
• Coordinate subcontracting with local entities at the project site
• Assist in drafting subcontracts and purchase agreements
• Manage QA/QC per the Project Quality Plan and coordinate inspections
• Coordinate DFW prep meetings and punch-list inspections
• Handle coordination drawings (MEP, shop, as-built) and lift/formwork drawings
• Compile turnover documentation for DFW and support closeout with subs/suppliers
• Support inspections and customer punch list processes for DFW responsibilities
• Participate in project safety audits and Mortenson's Zero Injury program
• Assist with scheduling and mobility across projects
