Job summary

Black Box is seeking a Project Engineer to support the project operations team, serving as the liaison between field and office, developing submittals, processing RFIs, and maintaining up-to-date drawings and project records.

The role emphasizes communication, coordination with Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients, and ensuring safety, quality, and schedule alignment while driving real-time visibility through dashboards and electronic tracking.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; relevant experience considered in lieu of degree.
• Minimum of 5+ years' experience in the construction industry in a similar role; data center/large cabling experience preferred.
• OSHA-30 Hour certification required (within 6 months if not already certified).
• BICSI TECH certification desired.

Responsibilities

• Assist Project Manager and Senior Project Manager; support project delivery teams.
• Review plans, specifications, and bid packages; participate in RFI process.
• Coordinate with field and office; ensure drawings, redlines, and project records are up-to-date.
• Lead or support test results review (OTDR, Power Meter, etc.) and QA/QC efforts.
• Develop and maintain submittal packages, change orders, and closeout documentation.
• Prepare and monitor project schedules, resources, and manpower forecasts.
• Engage with customers, subcontractors, and vendors to validate expectations.
