Job summary

Nexus Data Centers is hiring a Field Engineer to join our engineering group on a multi-gigawatt hyperscale AI data center campus in Hill County, TX. This role works with design and engineering to keep construction aligned with intent in real time on a large, fast-moving site.

You will translate drawings, perform field surveys, coordinate with engineers, manage RFIs, and keep accurate as-built records to feed the engineering team. This is an on-site, full-time position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
• 5+ years of field engineering experience on heavy industrial, power generation, or utility-scale construction.
• Proficiency with survey/layout tools, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Bluebeam.
• Strong ability to read and interrogate design drawings and specs.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and translate design drawings into field layout and construction execution.
• Perform site survey, grading, and layout control for civil, structural, mechanical and electrical scopes.
• Resolve discrepancies with engineering as field conditions arise.
• Generate and track RFIs from the field and ensure responses are implemented.
• Maintain as-built documentation and redlines for the engineering record.
• Conduct field quality checks against tolerances and specs.
• Support constructability reviews and flag design issues early.
• Coordinate with Superintendents and Project Engineers to keep engineering scope on schedule.
