Job summary

Qualifications

• Extensive knowledge of civil engineering principles and practices

Responsibilities

• Maintains state and interstate highways in an assigned geographical area.
• Reviews design plans for construction projects to minimize future maintenance problems.
• Directs snow and ice removal and disaster field operations.
• Provides technical advice and recommendations to the Operations Engineer.
• Assigns, trains, motivates and evaluates subordinate personnel.
• Performs duties in compliance with the Departmental Safety Rules and ensures fair treatment of staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in Illinois or Licensed Structural Engineer in Illinois
