Job summary

Fay, part of S&B USA Construction, seeks a Field Engineer to support major highway, bridge, and heavy civil projects in the Mid-Atlantic region. Start May 2027; you will work with Project Managers and Superintendents to gain hands-on experience from planning through field execution.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field, graduating between December 2026 and May 2027, with 0–4 years in field construction and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, or related field; graduation between Dec 2026 and May 2027.
• 0-4 years of field construction experience required; internship or co-op helpful.
• E.I.T. preferred but not required.
• Ability to read and interpret plans; cost analysis and estimating experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Superintendent and Project Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project, including financial administration and field activities.
• Support pre-construction activities such as planning, design interpretation, and quantity takeoffs.
• Maintain submittal logs, RFI logs, and track costs and time cards.
• Take weekly jobsite photos and assist in project close-out activities.
• Support safety, quality control, and communication across project teams.
