Job summary

S&B USA Construction is seeking a Field Engineer for the Mid-Atlantic region. This entry-level position supports the construction of major highway and bridge projects, working alongside Project Managers and Superintendents. Ideal candidates are graduating in 2027 with Civil Engineering or Construction Management backgrounds.

The role emphasizes hands-on field experience, cost tracking, scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance on heavy civil infrastructure assignments.

Qualifications

• 4 year engineering degree or equivalent technical training and related experience.
• 0-4 years of field construction experience required.
• Internship or co-op with heavy civil or transportation contractor preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret plans.

Responsibilities

• Assist Superintendent and Project Manager in managing all aspects of a construction project.
• Interpret designs, drawings, and specifications; prepare quantity takeoffs.
• Maintain submittal logs, RFI logs and shop drawings.
• Track costs, time cards, and cost codes; assist in project close‑out.
