Job summary

ACCIONA is seeking a Field Engineer to support the SR400 Express Lanes project in Atlanta, GA. You will coordinate field activities, review shop drawings, and ensure safety, quality, and schedule adherence on a multi-billion infrastructure program.

The role requires a Civil Engineering related degree and 1+ year in field engineering or heavy civil work; familiarity with GDOT specs and Procore/Bluebeam is a plus. Relocation assistance may be available for approved assignments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related field required.
• At least 1 year of field engineering or construction experience on heavy civil or DOT projects.
• Valid driver's license and ability to access active work zones safely.
• Familiarity with GDOT specs, AASHTO guidelines, and traffic control standards.
• Proficient with construction documents, layout, and field reporting tools.
• Experience with Procore, CMiC, or similar document management platforms.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of scheduling software is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily meetings with field crews to verify schedule, deliveries, and equipment.
• Assist in field layout planning, utility marking, and permit tracking.
• Analyze shop drawings, submittals, specs, and contracts to identify conflicts.
• Record daily quantities and costs using SR400 WBS.
• Monitor progress and flag delays; contribute to lookahead updates.
• Document timecards, production tracking, RFIs, and field memos.
• Support JHAs, safety inspections, and environmental compliance.
• Prepare reports, inspection requests, and quality checklists; assist inspections.
• Coordinate with subcontractors on sequencing, logistics, safety.
• Aid in closeout by reconciling quantities and completing punch lists.
