Job summary

Kiewit is seeking an Entry Level Field Engineer for our Field Operations. The role involves supporting both Field and Office Engineering tasks on diverse projects nationwide, with relocation as needed.

You will assist with drawings, takeoffs, work plans, surveys, safety checks, and daily reporting while growing in a talented team. This position offers robust training, career growth, and the chance to contribute to critical infrastructure projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Associate’s degree in a construction-related field of engineering.
• Willingness to travel/relocate to project sites as needed.
• Positive, can-do attitude with motivation to excel.
• Strong work ethic and ethics; safety-focused.
• Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication; teamwork oriented.
• Leadership experience in any capacity is valued.
• Reliable transportation to and from job sites.
• Previous internship experience is preferred.
• Ability to access construction sites across varied climates and locations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in interpreting drawings and specs for field crews and supervision.
• Perform quantity takeoffs and measure completed/installed work.
• Assist in planning work packages and schedules.
• Support field surveying, elevation points, and as-built data.
• Record daily labor times and contribute to JHA preparation.
• Provide solutions for underground tunneling and construction operations.
• Participate in safety reviews, toolbox talks, and safety training.
• Coordinate material deliveries and schedule work groups on site.
• Supervise field operations and support subcontractors.
• Assist in cost data review and bid data analysis.
