Job summary

Albany Valve & Fitting Co., Inc. in Wallingford, CT, a Swagelok authorized sales and service center, is seeking a Field Engineer who provides engineering expertise, troubleshooting, and optimization of industrial fluid systems on-site at customer facilities.

You will analyze systems, develop P&ID drawings, advise on safety, reliability, and performance, and work with customers and internal teams to deliver solutions, manage projects, and help grow the business while traveling 60–70%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering discipline – required.
• History of success in business, sales, or Application Engineering.
• Demonstrated success rapidly building and maintaining relationships.
• Strong organizational and project management skills.
• Ability to interpret customer applications to develop P&ID and fluid schematics.
• Problem solving skills to complete projects with sound engineering decisions.
• Experience with technical offerings and solutions.
• Excellent communication, listening, and willingness to close deals.
• Drive to compete and win, works well independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Become an expert on Swagelok offerings and process and instrumentation applications.
• Identify opportunities to improve system safety, reliability, efficiency, and performance at customer facilities.
• Support Business Development with technical expertise during calls.
• Troubleshoot fluid system issues and determine root causes.
• Collaborate with customers during design, installation, startup, commissioning, and maintenance.
• Stay connected with customers to lead the marketplace.
• Deliver technical guidance and training on installation, operation, and maintenance.
• Maintain strong customer relationships as a trusted engineering resource.
• Develop P&ID’s and provide input for Custom Solutions to fluid challenges.
• Attain stated sales goals by aligning with distributor and business group plans.
