Job summary

NRTC - National Rural Telecommunications Cooperative seeks a Fielder to support broadband and fiber deployments across Rural America. You will be on the front lines, working with engineering and OSP construction teams to validate designs, identify field conditions, and provide feedback for updates.

Travel to project sites is 90%+ and you will coordinate across engineering, project management, and construction teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in OSP field engineering or related work.
• Familiarity with GIS systems (ESRI) is helpful.
• Proficient with MS Office and reporting tools.
• Ability to read ROW and permitting requirements.

Responsibilities

• Collect utility information from OSP facilities per standards.
• Assess make-ready needs through member infrastructure.
• Identify obstructions to fiber placement and propose mitigations.
• Provide field survey data and photographs.
• Review locations for new OSP facilities and provide feedback.
• Create field sketches using Field Maps and document results.
• Support with permit staking and outside plant inspections.
• Travel to project sites nationwide; 90%+ travel required.
• Collaborate with engineering, PM, and construction teams.
