Job summary

GCS Recruitment is seeking a Field Technician to support fiber network deployments, testing, and service delivery across metro and long-haul fiber infrastructure. The role involves fiber characterization, OTDR testing, troubleshooting, and validating networks to meet customer requirements.

You will perform testing, analyze OTDR results, and coordinate with project teams and vendors to ensure on-time delivery. Strong communication and customer-facing skills are essential for success on-site.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
• Experience with ISP/OSP fiber infrastructure or similar.
• Strong OTDR testing and fiber troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform fiber testing, characterization, and connectivity validation.
• Analyze OTDR results to identify faults and performance issues.
• Troubleshoot fiber infrastructure and assist issue resolution.
• Maintain testing records, reports, and project documentation.
• Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and customers to meet timelines.
• Ensure installations comply with grounding, power, cooling, and cabling standards.
