Job summary

Hensel Phelps in Tampa seeks a Field Engineer to support the Superintendent in front-line field management, layout, safety, and quality control on large projects. This role combines field work with coordination of trade partners and the VDC team.

You will review plans, assist with scheduling and cost control, and help ensure site safety and compliance while developing supervisory experience. A 4-year civil/structural/construction degree and 1 year of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• A 4-year degree in Civil, Structural, Architecture, Construction Management or related field.
• 1 year of experience and/or a combination of education and experience.
• Valid Driver’s License.
• Strong communication skills.
• Preferred: past internships in construction industry.

Responsibilities

• Project layout (surveying) in conformance with design and contract documents.
• Check concrete forms for accuracy and adequacy of construction, including embedded items.
• Perform production trend analysis for quantities of work in place and report for schedule/cost control.
• Assist with quality control, site safety initiatives and coordination of trade partners.
• Coordinate material deliveries by checking requirements in advance and delivery status.
• Review and navigate within current 3D model viewing and scheduling software.
